World Missions
The Lee University Symphonic Band uses music to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord Jesus Christ which states that we are to "…go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit..." (Matthew 28:19).
In the last two decades the ensemble has traveled to the Bahamas, Trinidad, Mexico, South Africa, Botswana, Guatemala, Jordan, and Brazil. In each of these countries the ensemble ministered through concerts in schools and public amphitheaters and, in some locations, was able to give private music lessons to and hold master classes for local school children.
Mission: Israel - June 5-13, 2009
The band is once again preparing for an exciting mission trip. This year the Symphonic Band will tour the nation of Israel where they will minister to the Palestinian people, both Christian and non-Christian, through a series of concerts and church services. In addition to several key ministry opportunities, the band will get to experience the Holy Land by visiting such places as the Sea of Galilee, Caesarea Philippi, Capernaum, Jericho, The Dead Sea and of course the city of Jerusalem.
Through a partnership with the Bethlehem Bible College, the Symphonic Band has been able to schedule several public concerts in Bethlehem and Nazareth. These concerts will allow the band to perform music for people who may not enter the doors of a traditional church and therefore never hear the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.
